Aaron Joseph is a multi-instrumentalist from New Orleans, LA. He has played in bands around the city, as well as being a pit musician for theaters such as Le Petit, Summer Lyric at Tulane, and the College Conservatory of Music. He was a finalist for the Musical Theatre Songwriters Challenge, being awarded a scholarship and publication through Samuel French, the American Theatre Wing, and the National Endowment for the Arts. Aaron is also one half of the children’s music duo The PopRocks.
Aaron is an ardent lover of banging on pianos, being raised on the likes of Elton John, Billy Joel, Ben Folds, and Fats Domino. He hopes that The Rocketmen can continue to showcase the deep passion they have for the music of Elton John, as well as replicating the unique style of showmanship and energy that Elton was known for in his early days.
Nicholas Dayton started acting professionally at age 11 in television and Broadway associated productions. He appeared on The Electric Company (PBS), 30 Rock (NBC), various Nickelodeon spots and more. During high school years, Nicholas attended the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts where he formed the well-loved barbershop quartet, The Ragamuffins with Aaron, our show’s Elton John.
Focusing on music after high school as a multi-instrumentalist, Nicholas began composing and performing music for Sesame Street, among other programs. Nicholas formed the children's music duo The PopRocks, which performs across the country. He joined the NOLA-based Lost In The 60’s as a McCartney-style lead vocalist and lefty bassist. This led to meeting Bobby and Guy, two committed musicians that make the creative vision for The Rocketmen possible. Nicholas continues TV music work today in addition to audio mixing. Nicholas is the current bassist for the premier New Orleans 2000's cover band That's So Fetch, playing with top local talent. Always being drawn to the classic pop/rock sound despite his young age, The Rocketmen is a culmination of his years of theater, music and bass experience.
Christian Novak has been performing across the Gulf South for more than 25 years, earning a reputation as one of the region’s most skilled and versatile guitarists. His effortless technique, expressive tone, and commanding stage presence make him a natural fit for The Rocketmen.
Over the years, Christian has played with bands such as Signals From MSY: The Rush Experience, Alt’r Ego, Band Camp, Voodoo Gumbo, The Hoochie Mammas, Dr. Rock, and The Rougarous. He has also performed in more than 20 musical theatre productions, where he refined his precision, timing, and dynamic sense of performance.
Combining technical mastery, confidence, and genuine feel, Christian brings both authenticity and excitement to every show — capturing the heart of Elton John’s era while adding his own unmistakable flair.
Like many musicians, Guy’s fascination with drums and music started at age 5 shortly after seeing The Beatles on Ed Sullivan that fateful Sunday night in February 1964. After lessons and lots of hours at the drum kit, Guy was able to get his first real drum set at age 15. Since then Guy has played drums consistently in numerous bands in the New Orleans area. (Big Bang, Lost in the Sixties).
Guy places heavy emphasis on playing “for the song”, always aware of how a solid tight groove can propel a song to greater heights. The fact that he is also a singing drummer has added to this belief. Guy loves all genres of music, but is especially fond of the pop/rock sensibilities that shaped his playing as a teen and young adult.
His love of Elton John’s early catalog places him in a perfect position for The Rocketmen. After all these years, Guy’s Still Standing!
Bobby grew up in a family where everyone played a musical instrument, and started on the piano and clarinet. In his early teens, he discovered Rock & Roll, and was taught to play guitar by his older brother, Tom. Soon afterwards he went to his first concert - Deep Purple at the Warehouse in 1971, and he’s been playing in bands since. He loves most all music genres, with a special affinity for progressive rock, especially Genesis, Yes, and Dream Theater.
Bobby considers himself to be a “multi-instrumentalist”, playing guitar and keyboards in The Rocketmen, as well as Lost in the Sixties (with his brother Tom, along with Nick and Guy), and bass guitar/keyboards in a Rush tribute band. He is extremely excited about this new project playing the classic hits of Elton John!
